The main menu allows to view the airfoil section to be cut. It is build with three areas:
  • Area 1: The menu bar,
  • Area 2: Icons bar,
  • Area 3: Viewing area.

1. The menu barpulldown.jpg (1906 bytes)

The menu bar includes the main functions of the software:

  • File: Standart Windows Pull-down Menu. Notice that every project may be saved to a file. This allows to save your wing configuration.
    • [File: Export]: Allows to export in text mode all the elements of a given configuration.
    • [File: Script Execution de script]: Allows to execute a cut from a .cut file input.
  • Edit: Standart Windows Pull-down Menu.
  • View: Standard Windows Pull-down Menu
  • CNC: Access to configuration options
    • [CNC: Configuration]: Setup the physical configuration parameters for the foam cutting machine.
    • [CNC: Timer tuning]: Setup/Tuning of the external timer.
    • [CNC: Wire Temperature]: Setup for wire kerf configuration with respect to foam material,
    • [CNC: Zéro Axis]: Setup of the rest (initial) position of the wire and user interface for moving the trolleys of the machine along the various axis,
    • [CNC: Files]: Setup of the path to configuration files directories,
  • Project:
    •
    • [Project: Wing Configuration]: Setup of your wing physical parameters.
    • [Project: Root profile]: Definition of the root airfoil section.
    • [Project: Tip profile]: Definition of the tip airfoil section. This menu entry is active if the trapezoidal option is selected in the [Project: Wing Configuration] menu.
    •  [Project: Spars]: Allows to define spars shape and location.
    • [Project: X leading edge]: Definition of the leading edge cut shape. The entry is active if the option is selected through the icon bar. The undelying menu is identical to those linked with the X leading edge icon.
    • [Project: Comments]: Allows to note a few comments relevants to the cut configuration.
  • Cut:
    •
    • [Cut: Wing Cut]: final parameters entry and start the wing cut
    • Cut: Vertical Cut]: Starts a vertical cut (guillotine),
    • [Cut: Bloc Shaping]: Start the shaping/dressing of the block,
    • [Cut: Test cut]: Start the test cut sequence, usefull for determination of some parameters.
  • ?: Software Version
2. The Icon bar icons.jpg (4412 bytes) allows standart windows functions activation (open file, save, print), plus some options which modify the cut. These functions are:
  •  baicon.jpg (855 bytes) This icon activate/deactivate the leading edge cut.
  •  entry.jpg (865 bytes) This icon activates a straight cut in the continuation of the leading edge to separate the foam beds.
  •  degaicon.jpg (875 bytes) This icon activates/deactivates the cut of a clearing at the leading edge (X leading edge)
  •    This icon allows to modify the trailing edge cut. This selection performs a straight cut in continuation of the trailing edge. This style of cut may be used typically for builing molds for hollowed wings.
  •   This icon selects a sloped cut at trailing edge. This style of cut is usefull for wood skinning the foam beds in a single pass.
  • This icon modifies the margin cut at trailing edge. This style of cut, with a double route, is aimed to foam bed skinning in two pass (lower surface/upper surface).
  • InterIcon.jpg (852 bytes) This icon allows to visualize the points of the cut (spline/not spline + skin). The following drawing presents an example with a skin thickness of nearly 2mm. Be aware that if your skin thickness is null, it will be difficult to see these points and differentiate them from the following functions relative to interpolation.
CoordReal.jpg (25027 bytes)
  • CoordIcon.jpg (834 bytes)  This icon allows to visualize the computed coordinates when using linear interpolation. The following drawing is an example with a 2mm skin thickness.
coord.jpg (26223 bytes)

  • SplineIcon.jpg (862 bytes) This icon selects/deselects spline computation.
CoordSpline.jpg (26463 bytes)
zoomicon.jpg (1433 bytes) This icon allows  to change the visualization scale in the viewing area. This does not modify the effective cut dimensions, but only screen appearance.
