Shaping a block:

  • Principle:
To make a test cut it should be possible to dress up/trim a foam block to the desired dimensions (left, right, sweep, length). Do not move the block after shaping. Enter 'Test Cut', and with the same dimensions you can cut slices of the desired thickness. The wire must get in and out of the block simultaneously, with a proportional margin at tip and root, for instance 5mm at tip. Prior to any section cut, it is required to trim the block to the external dimensions. The wire path is shown in the following diagram, starting (and ending) at 'Position initiale':

  • Menu:
The Block position in X is the required offset between the initial wire position and the beginning of the block.

The software is going to compute the moves required on X axis trolleys to garantee a correct block shape. The displacements will be a function of the block position over the table (centered or not) and the shape of the wing (rectangular or trapezoidal).

The clearance height is the height to position the wire before travelling over the block to reach the opposite side of the block. This allow to avoid to set weights to fix the foam block during the cut operation.

  • Stages:
  1. Position your block. Take care of clearance height !!!
  2. Set the X starting offset
  3. Start the cut. The wire will come back to its rest position after having shaped the block.
