This menu entry allows you to configure the physical parameters
of your foam cutter machine. This configuration is then stored in a file
(extension .xxx [TBD]). Please note that both right and left X/Y axis are
considered being identical (same dimensions, same type of motors,...)
Pay attention when filling up the field "steps per revolution" : You
have to check for what mode of operation your stepper motors have been
setup. Refer to the Questions & Answers.chapter
for more information.
The screw lead shouldn't be a problem, except if you are using a screws
which are not always of metric type.
The following chart recall the value for metric (ISO) screws:
| Type |
Screw diameter (mm) |
Thread pitch (mm) |
| M6 |

| M8 |
8 mm |
1.25 |
| M10 |

Minimum time between steps (and Maximum speed)
configuration:
You should first proceed with the "number of steps per
revolution" and "screw lead" entries. For a start, keep the program default
value for "minimum time between steps" parameter (5 msec should work with
almost all stepper motors). La configuration "Nombre de tours des paps"
et "pas de vis (mm)" X et Y du menu de configuration étant faite,
conservez les "temps minimum entre 2 pas" par défaut du programme.
These timings may be adjusted later, they roughly function of motors (step
delay) and mechanical installation for trolleys.
To proceed with this adjustment, use the Zero
Arc menu and procedure.
Timer value (ms)
This entry allows to modify the delay value. It is useless
with GP98 and BB2000 electronic control boards.
Time for wire heating (s)
This allows, for BB2001 control board owners (and other
systems which includes wire heating system), to delay the beginning of
the cut in order to let the wire temperature rise and stabilize.
If the wire heater is separate, fill in with 0 value.
